Pennsylvania Tradition of gun ownership
Pennsylvania culture is filled with gun ownership and use. We are a “shall issue” state when it comes to license to carry a concealed firearm. Unlicensed open-carry has always been legal in PA for those not prohibited [except a license is required to open carry in Philadelphia (City of the First Class) and when within a vehicle with some exceptions]. On May 31, 2019, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that carrying a firearm is not reasonable suspicion to detain someone. We have the Castle Doctrine. We have a Stand Your Ground. NFA firearms are permitted per federal law (except for certain destructive devices).
Most importantly our constitution of Pennsylvania reads:
Right to bear arms.
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
This goes all the way back to the original Pennsylvania State constitution written in 1776 (which predates the US Bill of Rights). At that time it reads:
XIII. That the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the state…
We have commitment

Justin Went Beyond our Expectations
I am a single mother and because of work could not spend enough time watching over my son. Unfortunately, he became involved with gangs and out himself in a very bad position. One of his friends was involved in a homicide and my son was being charged as well.
My sister recommended Justin McShane and we decided to have him represent us. He worked really hard and was very prepared. He cross-examined every witness and in the end my son was acquitted of all of the felony counts and left with a misdemeanor.
When I took my son to Mr. McShane’s office to thank him, he went out of his way to talk to my son about his involvement in gangs. He explained how serious these charges were and that if he continued in that way he could get into a lot of trouble. It looks like my son took that to heart because he has been staying at home more and we’ve been talking about getting him back into school.
Thanks Justin. You’re not only a good lawyer but a good man with a golden heart.
